Blueprints for Assessments

 

  1. Add Blueprints (description of the items to include in an assessment) by selecting the plus sign in the upper right or edit a blueprint by selecting the blueprint to edit
  2. Enter a Title for the Blueprint
  3. Select the Kind of assessment from the drop down menu on the right from: Quiz, Test, Exam, or Review
  4. Select the Course from the drop down menu on the right
  5. Enter the number of Versions of the assessment you want to create by clicking the up and down arrows on the right
  6. Enter a Default point value for items on the assessment (defaults to 1)
  7. Toggle whether or not you want the choices for multiple-choice type questions to be shuffled randomly (Note: Sequencing/Ordering questions will be alphabetically displayed; other item kinds are not affected)
  8. If you want to be able to reproduce the exact output later, set up a Random Seed by toggling on “Deterministic (reproducible)” and optionally enter your own Random Seed or allow the app to auto-generate a random seed on first generation of the assessment
  9. Add questions by setting up the rules by which they are selected
    —Select “Add Rule”
    —Select the rule just added
    —Determine how many questions to include from those that will meet the rule’s specifications by selecting the up and down arrows to the right of the Count
    —If desired, limit the questions to those associated with Sections of the Textbooks included in the test bank
    —If desired, limit the Question Types
    —If desired, limit the question Difficulties
    —If desired, limit the questions by Tags
  10. Optionally, Add Stimulus Group to set up a number of questions that will share an image or one set of instructions
    —Choose the Stimulus from the drop down menu to the right
    —Select how many questions associated with that Stimulus to include in each assessment printed
  11. Reorder the Output Order of the questions by using the arrows next to the trash can on the right
  12. Delete any rules by selecting the trash can
