Question Bank

For all question types:

  1. Select the Difficulty from the dropdown menu on the right from: Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, or Very Hard
  2. Select the Point value for the question (mostly ignored until future feature added)
  3. Select the Status of the question from the dropdown menu on the right from: Draft, Needs Review, Needs Revision, Approved, or Retired
  4. If needed, add a Stem Image (JPG, PNG, or PDF image) that will print with the text of the stem (see separate detailed instructions)
  5. If the question will be grouped together with other questions that share a common set of instructions, choose the Stimulus (common instruction) set from the dropdown menu on the right
  6. Between Stimulus and Classification, for some question types, validation messages will appear if the app determines you haven not met the requirements for the question type
  7. If desired, classify the question by Course and/or Textbook Section(s) by selecting the right arrow and toggling on the relevant associations
  8. If desired, select a tag to further identify the content of the question by selecting one or more tags from those presented or by adding a new tag
  9. All questions have an input field for answers and an optional field for rationale for the answer, right or wrong (these rationale will be printed on the Answer Key)
  10. The app allows you to use mathematical and chemistry formulas using MathML or KaTeX (a variety of LaTeX)
—Abbreviated instructions and shortcuts are located at the bottom of the question edit window
    —Helpful resources are linked below
  11. The app also allows you to use foreign language keyboards by installing the keyboard and then selecting it while using the app (languages that print right-to-left should be handled automatically although edits sometime require selection of the entire foreign language term for proper rendering — this is an operating system limitation)
  12. IMPORTANT: Be sure to select “Save” near the top of the question input sheet to save the question to the test bank
